- MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics (MRC CNGG) brings together world-leading researchers from Cardiff University to undertake discovery and translational research, based primarily on genetics and genomics to understand the major causes of mental illness.
- Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute brings together world-class leaders in ground-breaking neuroscience and mental health research to seek answers to the major mental disorders.
- National Institute for Health and Social Care Research (NISCHR) is the Welsh Government body that develops, in consultation with partners, strategy and policy for research in the NHS and social care in Wales.
- NISCHR Academic Health Science Collaboration (AHSC) aims to facilitate collaboration in order to combine clinical research, both basic and translational research, clinical care and education to create world leading improvements in healthcare.
- NISCHR Clinical Research Centre (CRC) aims to increase the quality and quantity of people-centred research in Wales.
- NISCHR Mental Health Research Network Cymru (MHRN-C) delivers the clinical trials and other well designed studies that matter in the field of mental health.
- NHS Wales is the publically funded National Health Service of Wales providing healthcare to some three million people who live in the country across the following seven Health Boards.

- Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is a network of women across the UK and further afield who have experienced PP.
- Advanced Medical Imaging and Visualization Unit is a partnership between the Research Institute of Visual Computing, the NHS in Wales and Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities.
- All Wales Mental Health Promotion Network increases public and professional understanding of public mental health, develops evidence and learning exchanges, and acts as a conduit for the dissemination of promising practices in public mental health promotion.
- Alzheimer’s Research UK is a leading dementia research charity specialising in finding preventions, causes, treatments and a cure for dementia.
- Alzheimer’s Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
- Bipolar Disorder Research Network (BDRN) is a group of researchers and research participants in the UK undertaking a major study aimed at investigating the underlying causes of bipolar disorder.
- Bipolar Education Programme Cymru is an educational programme which aims to improve participants’ understanding of bipolar disorder and also aims to provide benefits in terms of quality of life and experience of symptoms.
- Bipolar UK is a national charity dedicated to supporting individuals with the much misunderstood and devastating condition of bipolar, their families and carers.
- Diverse Cymru is Wales’ first all equalities charity. Its mission is to eliminate discrimination and inequality in Wales.
- Hafal is a leading charity for people with serious mental illness and their carers.
- Mencap is a leading charity which works with people with a learning disability to change laws, challenge prejudice and support them to live their lives as they choose.
- Mental Health Foundation (MHF) is a leading mental health research, policy and service improvement charity.
- Mind Cymru provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, and campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
- National Autistic Society is a leading UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families.
- The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) is a Welsh Government funded scheme for those with or at risk of developing a range of chronic diseases, including mental health problems. Health professionals refer patients to undertake a programme of exercise, supervised by a fully qualified exercise professional.
- National Leadership and Innovation Agency for Healthcare (NLIAH) Centre for Mental Health Service Development is committed to the development and improvement of mental health services across Wales.
- Severnside Alliance for Translational Research (SARTRE) is a partnership between the Universities of Cardiff and Bristol to merge their efforts in translational research and to provide a focal point for interactions with the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
- Time to Change Wales is the first national campaign in Wales to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems.
- Techniquest aims to engage people with science and to motivate them to learn more.
