Professor Julie Williams Appointed CBE

 
 
Professor Julie Williams is appointed CBE for services to Alzheimer’s Disease Research. Professor Williams is one of the UK’s leading figures in Alzheimer’s research and plays a key role not only in the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) but also in Cardiff University’s Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute and the Medical Research Council (MRC) Centre on Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics.
 
Her research focuses on identifying and understanding genes which increase the risk of developing complex psychological and neurodegenerative disorders.
